To promote the quality of journals in the humanities and social sciences, the RIHSS launches a journal evaluation system–Taiwan Humanities Core Index (THCI) & Taiwan Social Sciences Core Index (TSSCI). Journals applying for the evaluation are categorized into two sections, professional and cross-disciplines. The review of the professional disciplines usually takes place every three years, while for the cross-disciplines evaluation, it is held once in a year with different groups of discipline taking turns. The group list is announced by the RIHSS every year.
